ABOUT OUR PHILANTHROPY

Arthritis

Alpha Omicron Pi’s international philanthropy is arthritis, and our philanthropy partner is the Arthritis Foundation. Since 1967, members and chapters have raised millions of dollars to fund research, provide resources, and support those affected by arthritis, a disease that disproportionately impacts women and also affects children.

AOII’s philanthropy dollars support several impactful Arthritis Foundation initiatives, including the Juvenile Arthritis Power Pack program, Juvenile Arthritis Camps, the Juvenile Arthritis Family Summit, and the 24/7 Helpline. Our Canadian sisters proudly support The Arthritis Society of Canada, furthering our shared mission to fight arthritis and improve lives.

OUR Local Efforts

We’re proud to continue this legacy of service at Theta Omega! Here’s how we’re making an impact in our community:In the past year, we raised $11,000 through our philanthropic efforts. We raise awareness every year on World Arthritis Day, October 12 and have raised money through a variety of events. Since 2024, our signature event has been an epic lip sync battle called Sync Out Arthritis! Teams not only participate in a lip sync battle but a variety of other activities such as Pie a Pi, movie night, and social media contests. The winners are crowned Panda Prince and Panda Princess. Locally, we support Foster Alliance and we’re the first Greek organization in Arizona to do so.
